正如我轻轻地来;

是夕阳中的新娘;

油油的在水底招摇;

悄悄是别离的笙箫;

Farewell to Cambridge Again  By Xu ZhimoTr. Peter Jingcheng Xu

Quietly I take my leave

Just as quietly I came,

Waving gently farewell

To the western clouds aflame.

The golden riverside willow

Is the bride at twilight;

Her reflection in waves

Ripples in my heart bright.

The green weeds on the sludge

Sway freely underwater;

In the soft waves of Cam Rill

To be a weed I’m eager.

The lake amid the elm shades

shakes no spring, but a sky rainbow,

Grinded into the floating weeds.

My rainbow-like dreams along go.

To quest dreams? Holding a long pole,

To greener grass I row upstream,

With stars shimmering in my boat.

Let’s sing loud in the starry gleam.

And yet I can’t sing aloud,

but flute farewell silence light;

For me summer insects keep silent,

As silent is Cambridge tonight.

Quietly I take my leave

Just as quietly I came;

Waving gently my sleeve,

To clouds I'll leave with no claim.

On a summer night of that late July when he stayed in Bertrand Russell’s house, he decided to pay a visit to Cambridge University.
On Leaving Cambridge Again  By Xu ZhimoTr. Edward Connynham

Quietly I leave,

Just as I quietly came;

I quietly wave,

Saying goodbye to the bright clouds of the western sky.

The river banks golden willows,

Like brides in a setting sun;

Beautiful shadows in bright waves.

Waving in my heart.

The soft mud’s green grasses,

Bright green, waving on the river bottom;

World I were a blade of water grass,

In the river Cam’s gentle waves.

That lake under the Elm shadow,

Not a clear fountain but a rainbow in heaven.

Twisted into floating weeds.

Precipitating rainbow dreams.

Dream searching? Push a long boat pole,

Upstream towards green grass and an even greener place.

A boat filled with starlight,

Let loose a song midst printed starlight.

But I cannot sing,

It is quiet like a parting Hsiao;

The summer insects are also quiet for me,

Cambridge tonight is silent.

Quietly I leave,

Just as I quietly came;

My sleeves are waving,

Not taking away a single cloud.

Farewell, River Cam Once Again!  By Xu ZhimoTr. (Frank) Huang XinquRevised:  2009 10. 25

Gently I take my leave,

Just as gently I came here;

Gently I wave my farewell,

To the rosy clouds in the western sky.

Weeping willows by the riverside,

In the setting sun is a pretty bride.

Her graceful shadows in the river,

Fill my heart with the rising tide!

Green duckweeds growing in the sludge

Are swaying gently under the water;

I am willing to be a water plant,

Amid the gentle waves on River Cam.

Under the shade of elm trees,

That pool is not a clear spring, but

Shattered waves of a rainbow from the sky;

It is laden with a rosy rainbow's dream.

To seek a dream? With a long pole,

To the grass more lush and green I row.

Overloaded with a boat of starlight,

I sing aloud amid the brilliance of stars.

But I cannot sing it aloud,

Silence is the farewell tune in my flute.

Even summer insects keep silent for me,

So silent is River Cam tonight!

Quietly I take my leave,

Just as quietly I came here;

Gently I flick my sleeves,

Not even a wisp of cloud do I take away.

The Second Adieu to Cambridge  By Xu ZhimoTr. Zhao Yanchun

Quietly I go away,
Just like quietly came I;
Quietly I wave adieu
To clouds in the western sky.

The golden willow riverine
Is the sun-gilded bride;
Her reflection downstream
Stirs my heart from side to side.

The glossy weed on the mud
Sways underwater, freely free;
In soft waves of Cambridge,
 A duckweed I wish to be.

That pool in the shade of elms
 Holds no water but a rainbow beam;
Shattered 'midst the floating weeds,
Sinks my rainbow-like dream.

To seek a dream? With a longpole,
Upstream to the greenerweeds I row.
Star beams all over the boat.
I sing aloud in the starry glow.

But I can't sing aloud,
The parting flute I play light;
The summer insects keep mute for me
Mute is my Cambridge tonight.

Calmly I go away,
Just like calmly came I;
I wave and wave my sleeve,
No cloud I'll take home from the sky
