处暑的到来意味着我国大部分地区的炎热情况将出现转折，气温开始逐渐下降。

中元节

处暑前后，民间会有中元节，俗称为“七月半”。这期间会举行普渡布施活动，例如竖灯篙、放河灯等，祈求身体健康和保佑家宅平安。

吃龙眼

处暑节气，老福州人有吃龙眼配稀饭的习俗。因夏季炎热，人体热量消耗较快，吃龙眼可补充热量。龙眼性温，有益脾补气的功效。

煲药茶
